What is the CBBA certification?
The Certified Better Business Analyst (CBBA) is the BBAI’s own industry credential, recognised across New Zealand and Australia. It’s distinct from IIBA — it’s built around the practical Better Business Analysis Framework and earned through coursework, assignments, and a final exam.
Do I need experience to enrol?
The free intro course is for anyone curious about BA. The CBBA works best if you’re already in a BA role or adjacent role — but motivated career changers with the free course as groundwork do well too.
How is the CBBA different from IIBA certification?
IIBA (CBAP, CCBA) is based on BABOK theory. The CBBA is built on the practical BBAI Framework — focused on what actually works on real projects. Many BAs hold both; they complement each other well.
How long does the self-paced CBBA take?
Most students complete it within the 6-week access window, spending roughly 4–6 hours per week. The access period starts from the date of enrolment.
Can my employer pay for this?
